Maynard (Dave) is born in Larchmont, New York.

Dave Maynard graduates from Emerson College, receives a master’s degree from Boston University, and begins his career in Boston as a disc jockey on WHIL-AM, moving to WORL-AM, then to WBZ-AM in 1979. He begins his popular Maynard in the Morning Show in 1980, featuring newsman Gary LaPierre, sportscaster Gil Santos, weather man Don Kent and traffic reporter Joe Green. “There was nobody any bigger in Boston radio than Dave Maynard – ever,” LaPierre later says. Although he formally retires in 1991, Maynard continues to on the radio occasionally for many years. He dies in Florida on February 9, 2012.
