Bova’s Bakery is established.

Founded by Antonio Bova, an Italian immigrant from Calabria, it is located initially at 79 Prince Street. The family-operated bakery subsequently relocates to 134 Salem Street and has reputedly been open 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, except for March 20 to 25, 2023, when it is used for scenes in the movie The Instigators.
