Boston Consolidated Gas Company building is built.

Architect: Parker, Thomas & Rice. Designed in the Renaissance Revival style, it is located at 100 Arlington Street. It becomes home to the University of Massachusetts Boston in 1965,* the UMass Boston College of Public Service in 1972,* and a charter school in 1995.* It is converted to a luxury apartment building in 2014.*
