Egleston Square Theatre opens.

Architect: Densmore, LeClear & Robbins. It is located at 3089 – 3093 Washington Street. The theater seats 1,222 (519-CD). It closes in April 1961 and the building is demolished in 2003 to make way for the construction of a housing development built in 2005.*
