Boston Braves game airs on WBZ.
April 14, 1925
The Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 in the home opener at Braves Field. In the first professional baseball game broadcast on radio in Boston (the first in the U.S. was of a Pittsburgh Pirates home game on KDKA Radio on August 5, 1921), comedian and baseball fan Joe E. Brown serves as play-by-play announcer. The team subsequently broadcasts a few other games during this season on WNAC and begins to broadcast home games regularly on WNAC in 1926.*
