Jamaica Plain Suffragist Judith Windsor Smith looks forward to casting her first vote at age 99.
April 30, 1920
Smith, who dies a year later, tells the Boston Globe, “For 70 years, I have been in the fight for woman’s suffrage, and I want every woman to go to the polls the first election they are allowed to vote. Vote as you can, but vote anyway, whether it rains or not.” She continues to live here until 1921.
