Asimov (Isaac) is born in Russia.
January 2, 1920
The son of immigrants who settle in New York City in 1923, Isaac Asimov graduates from Columbia College, serves in World War II, and comes to Boston in 1948 to teach biochemistry at Boston University School of Medicine, and with his wife Gertrude lives at 42 Worcester Square. Already a short story writer, he publishes his science fiction works in 1950,* moves to back to New York City in 1970, and dies there on April 6, 1992.
