Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom is established.

Founded by Emily Greene Balch and others, it is located initially at 6 Byron Street. Describing members in 1922, Balch declares, “Lovers of our lands, we are citizens of the world, conscious partakers in the sacrament of all human life, or more truly of all sentient life.”
