Cusick (Fred) is born in Brighton.

Fred Cusick serves in the U.S. Navy during World War II, marries Barbara Mullin in 1957, and serves as Boston Bruins play-by-play announcer on radio (1952-1970) and televsion (1971-1997). Known for his trademark call of “Score!” after Bruin goals, he dies at his home on Cape Cod on September 15, 2009, a day before he is to be inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
