White (Theodore H.) is born in Dorchester.

The son a Socialist lawyer, Theodore White is born on Erie Street, attends Endicott and Gibson Schools, graduates from Boston Latin School and Harvard College, and becomes a war correspondent and bureau chief in Asia for TIME magazine during World War II. Returning to the U.S., White becomes national political correspondent for Colliers and become one of the country’s leading journalists, best known for his series of books on presidential campaigns, beginning in 1961.* White dies in New York City on May 15, 1986.
