Wentworth Institute of Technology Williston Hall is built.

Architect: Peabody & Stearns. The first building on its new campus, it is located at 550 Huntington Avenue. The school, supported by a bequest from Boston marble industrialist Arioch Wentworth, held its first classes on April 5, 1904. Arthur Williston is the first president. It is accredited to grant associate’s degrees in 1957, becomes Wentworth College and is accredited to grant bachelor’s degrees in 1970. The school becomes coeducational in 1972, assumes its current name in 1977, and is accredited to grant graduate degrees in 2009.
