Hyde Park residents vote for annexation by Boston.

Voters approve the annexation proposal by a margin of 2 to 1. Boston is reputedly willing to annex the town despite its $10 million debt because of the prospect of collecting property taxes from its many factories. The annexation takes place in 1912.*
