MBTA Green Line Branch Extension is completed to Cambridge.

The line runs over the newly-constructed Lechmere Viaduct to cross the Charles River. The elevated section of the line ceases operation on June 25, 2004. The line is extended to Somerville on March 21, 2022, and to Medford on December 12, 2022.
