Ignace Paderewski’s Symphony in B Minor receives its world premiere.

It is performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Max Fiedler conducting, at Symphony Hall. The piece was written to express the composer’s sadness at the loss of Poland’s sovereignty. Ten years later, Paderewski becomes the Prime Minister of a free Poland, although he resigns 10 months later.
