Irene Shannon is murdered.

A dancer at the Old Howard, she is killed by her husband Chester, who then cuts up her body and stores it in a trunk. Chester Jordan is arrested a few days later in a rooming house at 7 Hancock Street, as he prepares to flee to New York. He is tried, convicted, and executed in the electric chair at Charlestown State Prison in September 1912.
