Buff & Buff Manufacturing Company factory is built.
1901
It is located at 239 Lamartine Street. A maker of precision measuring tools, the company was founded by George Buff in 1898 and initially located on Province Court in Boston. The company tools are so precise that some rely on the webs from spiders captured by local boys. Later run by George’s sons Louis and Henry, the company operates until the development of lasers make their instruments obsolete and it closes in 1983.
