East Boston and Chelsea youths battle on the Chelsea Street Bridge.

The fight, in which the combatants use fists, rocks and clubs, reputedly starts over a romantic entanglement. When police arrive, they arrest some of the participants, but others escape by jumping from the bridge and swimming away.
