American Congregational House (second) is built.
1898
Architect: Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge. It is located at 12 – 14 Beacon Street. The building features marble carvings on its exterior illustrating the principles of Law, Faith, Education and Philanthropy by Domingo Mora. The cornerstone was laid on November 29, 1897. The building serves as headquarters for the American Congregational Association and the American Congregational Library and Archives until they move to New York City in 1957.
