B.L. Makepeace is established.

Operated by Bertrand Makepeace, it begins as a blueprint shop located at 345 Washington Street. The company subsequently offers expanded printing services. When Makepeace dies in 1946, the company is purchased by employee Stephen Joyce. It moves to numerous locations until settling at its current location of 125 Guest Street in Brighton in 1983.
