North Union Station opens.

June 17, 1894

[8/31/1893] Architect: Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge. An addition to the existing Boston & Lowell and Fitchburg Railroad stations, it is designed in the Neoclassical style with a multi-story arch and located along Causeway Street. The building is demolished to make way for the construction of North Station and Boston Garden in 1927.*
