Mount Vernon Congregational Church (second) is built.
1891
Architect: Walker & Kimball. Also called the Mount Vernon Church, it is designed in the Romanesque Revival style and located at 492 Beacon Street. The interior is designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany, and he and John LaFarge design the stained glass windows. The building is badly damaged by a fire in 1978, and converted to condominiums in 1984.*
