Carter (Isabelle May) House is built.
1890
(ca.) Sometimes called “The Castle,” the brick and stone house is designed in the Tudor style, built for Thomas and Isabelle (May) Carter, and located on the former site of the Captain May House at 61 Arborway. Enlarged in 1897, its subsequent occupants include Boston Celtics star Bill Russell and Republican political candidate Jack Robinson. In recent years, it becomes best known for the elaborate Christmas lights and decorations put up every year by owner Dominic Luberto beginning in 2005.
