Elbana Brewery is built.
1886
Architect: Otto Wolf. Originally the John R. Alley Brewery, it is designed in the Queen Anne style and located at 123 – 125 Heath Street. The brewery produces Elbana Irish Ale and is operated by Alley’s sons until 1918. After Prohibition, it becomes a Canada Dry bottling plant. The building is purchased by Hampden Automotive Manufacturing Company in 1960.
