Albert Palmer is elected mayor of Boston.

Palmer (D), with 21,713 votes, defeats Samuel Green (R), with 19,575. Palmer won the office with the backing of Democratic boss Patrick Maguire. As mayor, he leads the effort to establish Franklin Park, then leaves after one term in office to return to private business. He lives at 14 Forest Street.
