Wheelman: An Illustrated Magazine of Cycling Literature and News is first published.

(Oct.) Published by Albert Pope, the magazine is edited by Samuel McClure. It calls itself a “genuine literary magazine” and a high-class American organ of bicyclical and tricyclical opinion and sentiment.” The magazine subsequently merges with Outing and becomes the most important early bicycle magazine in the U.S.
