King (George Parsons) House is built.

Architect: W. Whitney Lewis. It is located at 21 Fairfield Street (243 Commonwealth Avenue). Built for the iron and steel manufacturer and his wife, its subsequent occupants include Charles Francis Adams Jr., Louis Cabot, Edwin Swift, and Frank Stearns. The building is converted to a lodging house called The Duchess House by 1941 and converted to condominiums in 1979.
