Nichols (Malcolm E.) is born in Portland, Maine.

May 8, 1876

Malcolm Nichols graduates from Harvard University, moves to Boston, and serves on the Boston Common Council (1905-06), in the Massachusetts House of Representatives (1907-09) and Massachusetts Senate (1914-19), and as regional head of the Internal Revenue Service in 1921. He moves to 796 Centre Street by 1925. After running unsuccessfully several times, Nichols serves as mayor of Boston (1926-29). He dies at home in Jamaica Plain home on February 7 [2]), 1951 and is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery.
