Egleston Square Methodist Episcopal Church (first) is dedicated.
June 13, 1872
Designed in the Ruskinian Gothic style, the wood-frame church is located at the corner of Washington Street and Beethoven Street. The congregation moves to Walnut Avenue after 1911. The original building is demolished and replaced by a movie theater in 1926.*
