Elysium Club is established.

Founded by Jacob Hecht and others, it is a social club for Jewish businessmen and professionals and becomes the most exclusive German-Jewish social club in the city. The club subsequently moves to Concord Hall at 75 West Concord Street and then to a new building on Huntington Avenue in 1891.*
