Ruggles Street Baptist Church (first) is built.

The church is located at 165 Ruggles Street. The congregation is formed by a merger of the Branch Chapel and Ruggles Street Baptist missions. Robert Seymour is the first minister. The original wooden church is destroyed by fire in 1925 and replaced by a new stone church (second) in 1935.* The congregation moves to Audubon Circle in the Fenway in 1970.
