November 1, 1870
A temperature of 44 degrees is taken by members of the U.S. Army Signal Corps in front of the new Boston Weather Bureau office in the Old State House. The office (and temperature readings) move to 103 Court Street on January 10, 1871 the Equitable Building on Congress Street on August 12 1875, to the U.S. Post Office And Court House on October 11, 1884, to Young’s Hotel on June 7, 1929, to the new Post Office on January 29, 1933, and to the current location at Logan Airport on January 1, 1976.
