Overseers of the Public Welfare Building (first) is built.

It is located at the corner of Chardon Street and Hawkins Street. The building serves as the home of the Overseers of the Poor, the Boston Provident Association and other public and private groups serving the poor. It is replaced by a new building (second) in 1926.*
