Fireside Poets become prominent.

The term is first used by William Charvat more than 100 years later to describe the circle of New England poets that includes William Cullen Bryant, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, James Russell Lowell, and John Greenleaf Whittier.
