Adams (Brooks) is born in Quincy.

The son of Charles Francis and Abigail (Brown), Brooks Adams grew up at 57 Mount Vernon Street, graduated from Harvard College and Law School, becomes a lawyer, then turns to writing history in 1881. Adams also lectures at Boston University Law School from 1904 to 1911. He dies in Boston on February 13, 1927.
