Mount Vernon Church (first) is dedicated.

Architect: Richard Bond. Designed in the Greek Revival style and also known as the Mount Vernon Church, it is located near today’s 9 Ashburton Place. The congregation was established at a meeting in the Park Street vestry on June 1, 1842. Mr. Kirk is the first minister. A new church building (second) is built on Beacon Street in 1891.* The original building is converted to Isaac Rich Hall.
