Hale (Edward Everett) House is built.
1841
Architect: Benjamin Kent. Designed in the Greek Revival style, it is originally located at 39 Highland Street. The building is moved to its current location sometime between 1899 and 1906. The house is purchased by Hale in 1869 and he lives here until his death in 1909. With the support of Historic Boston, Inc., the building is renovated by its subsequent owner, artist Napoleon Jones-Henderson, in the 1990s.
