First Baptist Church in Dorchester (first) is built.
1838
Originally the Neponset Village Meeting House, it is is located on Chickatawbut Street near Narragansett Street. The first Baptist congregation in Dorchester, it was established in July 1835 and met initially at the Neponset Inn/Holbrook Tavern. Bradley Miner is the first minister. The congregation moves to a new building (second) on Adams Street in 1907.*
