Eliot Congregational Church (first) is built.

The church is located on Kenilworth Street. The building is enlarged and a spire added in 1847. The building is destroyed by fire in 1853. A new church (second) is built on Dale Street in 1873* and another (third) on Walnut Avenue in 1889.*
