Clark-Lincoln House is built.
1834
The first house on Louisburg Square, it is located at 19 Louisburg Square. Purchased, according to the deed by “John Clarke, Gentleman,” it subsequently becomes the home of Frederick Lincoln Jr., who hosts a lavish reception here for the Prince of Wales in 1860.* The building is converted to a convent in 1883,* returned to use as a single-family home, and subsequently occupied by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
