Fields (Annie Adams) is born in Boston.

She marries publisher James Fields in 1954, and she her husband go on to host the most noted literary salon in Boston at their home at 148 Charles Street. After his death, Annie Fields lives part of each year there with writer Sarah Orne Jewett in what is known as a “Boston Marriage.” Fields dies in Boston on January 5, 1915.
