Somerset Club (first) is established.

1826

Originally the Quadrangle Club, then the Tremont Club, then the Beacon Club, it is organized at 9 Beacon Street. An outgrowth of the Travelers Club, it adopts its current name when it moves to the former David Hinckley House (first) at 1 Somerset Street on April 1, 1852. The club moves to its current location (second) in the former David Sears house at 42 Beacon Street in 1872.
