Church Street District filling begins.

1825

(ca.) The private owners of flats in the area bounded by today’s Boylston Street, Arlington Street, Tremont Street, and Broadway Street/Park Place begin filling them in the mid 1820s. The filling is extended west of Church Street, creating what is today’s Bay Village (then the Church Street District) by 1835.
