Shaw (Quincy A.) is born in Boston.

The son of Robert Gould and Elizabeth (Parkman) Shaw, Quincy Shaw is born at 5 Bowdoin Square, graduates from Harvard College, lives for several years in Paris, and becomes a collector French of paintings. He returns to Boston to work for Lee, Higginson & Company, marries Pauline Agassiz in 1860,* and builds a home on Perkins Street in 1862.* Shaw becomes becoming manager of an extremely profitable Michigan copper mine in 1867.* He dies in Jamaica Plain on June 12, 1908, and is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery.
