Minot (Francis) is born in Boston.

The son of William Minot, Francis Minot graduates from Harvard Medical School, and establishes a practice at 144 Charles Street. He lives at 65 Marlborough Street. Minot becomes a surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital and practices there until his death in Milton in 1899.
