Brighton Hotel opens.

Operated by Samuel Dudley, it is located in the former Winship House on the site of today’s Brighton Police Station at today’s 301 Washington Street. Subsequently called Wilson’s Hotel, it closes in 1875 and the building is demolished in the early 1890s (1889,1891).
