Agricultural Hall opens.
June 15, 1818
Designed in the Greek Revival style, it is built by the Massachusetts Society for the Promotion of Agriculture and located originally at 54 Dighton Street. The oldest public building in Brighton, it serves as the Brighton Agricultural Fair’s central exhibition hall until the fair is discontinued in 1835. The building is moved to its current location at 360 Washington Street and converted to the Scales Hotel in 1844. The building is now home to Brighton Travel.
