Swan (Christiana) House is built.
1807
Architect: Charles Bulfinch. Designed in the Federal style and built by Hepzibah Swan for her daughter and husband John Sargent, it is located at 13 Chestnut Street. Subsequent occupants include Samuel Gridley Howe and Julia Ward Howe from 1863 to 1865 (1862-1866-LitBoston).
