Hurd (John) House is built.

[ca.-Bagley] Designed in the Georgian style, it is located at 65 – 71 Main Street. It is purchased by the wealthy merchant in 1833, pivoted on its site in 1868, and a first-floor storefront is added in approximately 1880. Purchased by Historic Boston, Inc. in 1981, the building is restored by James Rivers Adams and returned to private ownership.
