Hale (Nathan) is born in Northampton.

The son and namesake of the Revolutionary War hero, Nathan Hale arrives in Boston and quickly becomes one of the founders of the North American Review. He marries Sarah Preston Everett, the sister of Edward Everett, in 1816, and goes on to become a successful newspaper and magazine editor. Hale dies in Brookline on February 9, 1863.
