John Adams and his sons John Quincy and Charles sail from Boston for France.

Adams had been appointed by the Second Continental Congress to negotiate a peace treaty with Great Britain. His wife Abigail and daughter Nabby sail to join him and the boys in June 1784. John and Abigail return to Boston, sailing from London aboard the Lucretia on April 20, 1788.
